Dear Bonnie Oehl School Community,
It is an honor to introduce myself as the new principal of Bonnie Oehl Elementary. Our school has dedicated and talented teachers and staff who are committed to our students and I look forward to working alongside you and the staff to support your children.
The 2022-2023 school year marks my 23rd year in education. I began teaching first grade at Mt. Vernon Elementary School here in San Bernardino and from there I served as a Support Teacher and Program Specialist at Emmerton, Rio Vista, Wilson, and Hunt Elementary Schools. For the last 8 years, I have been an administrator in the Rialto Unified School District and I am excited to be back in my hometown. I attended UC Santa Cruz for my undergraduate degree and the University of Redlands for my master’s degree in administration.
In addition to my professional achievements, my greatest accomplishment is my family. I have a wonderful husband, two adult children, and one high school freshman. As a parent, I always want what is best for my children and will work tirelessly to ensure your children have a great experience at Bonnie Oehl.
Your feedback and support are essential to the continued improvement of our Dual Language Immersion program and our school-wide Positive Behavior Intervention and Support. We cannot do this work without you! With your help, we can ensure that every student is engaged, feels safe, and achieves at high levels. I encourage you to become involved in our community. We have several parent groups, including our Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO), the English Language Advisory Committee (ELAC), School Site Council (SSC), and the African American Parent Advisory Council (AAPAC).
I look forward to all we can accomplish together for our children and look forward to celebrating our successes throughout the year.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Adrienne Ortega
Principal
